Social Ecology Honors Seminar Application Deadline - Extended

The Social Ecology Honors Program is a three-quarter long sequence for Social Ecology seniors interested in conducting thesis projects. The Social Ecology Honors Seminar provides a special opportunity to work closely with not just one, but two professors, and with a small group of elite students. Each student in the seminar works closely with a faculty mentor on an individualized research topic. Also, all the students in the seminar meet to discuss common issues regarding research design, execution, and presentation.

The seminar is open to Social Ecology students with a 3.2 UCI GPA and a 3.5 GPA in upper-level Social Ecology major courses (minimum of 4 such courses) at the end of Summer Session II of their junior year.

The deadline to apply has been extended to Thursday, July 5th by
5 p.m. in the Social Ecology Student Services Office. Students need to submit a brief, one-page research proposal, a letter of support from a Social Ecology faculty member who agrees to serve as a mentor, and an official UCI transcript. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this process, contact Professor Kristen Day, the Honors Faculty Coordinator, at kday@uci.edu.
